Today was a big day for us: we delivered our first two cows to the processor! By the first of February, we will have our very own grass-fed beef for sale in the farm store in addition to our eggs and poultry. We will only have ground beef this first time because the cows we processed were older cows who have served us well but are no longer calving. Last Tuesday we took delivery of our first batch of cornish-cross broilers. The family was excited to welcome these 50 little chicks to our farm. We had never raised this many chicks at one time.
