Earlier this week, I was downtown Columbia at a staff lunch, and while we were waiting to be seated, I turned around and spotted a friend from high school that I hadn’t seen in years. Suzie and I were in the same class all the way through school, so I have known her all my life. She and a co-worker were also waiting to be seated, and after greeting one another with a hug because it had been so long, she turned to her friend and introduced me: “This is Jason Pope, he’s a farmer.” That made my day.  Most folks know that I still have a job off the farm because we came into farming mid-life.  So most times, I am identified by what I do off the farm. That is starting to change a little, and I like it. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my job, but I am a farmer at heart.

Thanks for tagging along with us on this journey. It would not be possible without your support!
